DVM-V24 USB Converter for V24 Equipment
DVM-V24 USB Converter for V24 Equipment
No more Cisco routers and WIC cards! Designed for use with the DVMProject DVMDFSI application, this board takes the synchronous 9600-baud RS232 HDLC signals from V24 RJ45 ports and converts it into standard asynchronous serial over a USB-C virtual serial port at 115200 baud. Now you can link together V24 networks without the complicated overhead of additional routers and expansion cards.
Currently, the DVM-V24 supports full bidirectional IMBE voice between V24-capable P25 base stations and the DVMProject CFNE using DVMDFSI. Development is ongoing to add additional functionality including P25 data and control messages, and to add additional options for linking between systems. Note that to upgrade the firmware on these units, an ST-LINK programmer is required. These can be obtained for under $5 on Amazon/eBay. A future firmware goal is to implement a DFU upgrade process over USB.
Boards are designed to mount via the 4 mounting holes, or in a Hammond 1455D60x extruded enclosure. Custom end plates for these hammond enclosures are available as well!
